Pinterest adds new shopping and merchant tools
The popular hobby site has been busy ramping up its eCommerce efforts since last year already.
Now, it launched Shopping Lists which lets users save product pins and receive notifications if the price of their saved item falls.
US and UK users can also use the “Goods by Pinterest” feature to exclusively access and showcase limited edition products from select brands.
Users will also receive recommendations from experts and tastemakers on the best products available.
Merchants have access to the Verified Merchant Program and can now add a blue checkmark to their profiles that verifies them as trustworthy sellers to shoppers.
“People have always come to Pinterest to shop – they use Pinterest to discover new ideas and actively consider what to do or buy to bring those ideas to life,” said Dan Lurie, Global Head of Shopping Products at Pinterest.
“We want to help users to find products just right for them and feel confident that they’ve made a solid choice from reputable merchants with a seamless shopping experience. We’re excited that Pinterest users in more countries will now be able to go from inspiration to purchase anywhere on Pinterest, bringing us one step closer to our goal of making every Pin easy to shop.”
According to Pinterest’s own research, Pinners spend twice more each month on purchases than non-Pinners and their basket sizes are 85% larger.
